Void is often good in design, it creates relief. On a van we often confine the design to the windows which keeps the message contained and clean. It draws the eye to detail: the logo, the image, the message. I also think this is a good trade option because it delivers on design and within a budget (talking < $1500 for logo placement set up & print & apply) and that design edge has impact out there on the discerning public street. Intangible but real if that makes sense.
