Let the tour begin…

Have just popped over to the Jayco Herald Sun Tour site to see what’s going on. Caught a glimpse of Mr Brumby (Victorian State Premier) behind the lecturn with the Jayco Herald Sun AutoSkin beaming from behind at the media launch for this event. To keep up with tour news if cycling is your gig, link here to the Jayco Herald Sun Tour site. Image below courtesy of this site. We have just completed 2 AutoSkins for You & I Ride with Caramel Creative providing the creative, and the Jayco Herald Sun AutoSkin pictured here courtesy of TL Sports. All of these guys are Tour Supporters and Sponsors for this race. The Tour kicked off on 12 October and the last stage is set for Melbourne on 18th October. Will post the second vehicle for You & I Ride in a day or so!

Paisley Motifs, Flowers, Spots and a Swami ~ AutoSkin

For the past three years Ritzenhoff have created some pretty funky designs for their annual competition (more detail when I post this as a project) really crossing over into a personalised AutoSkin. A great mix of colours with the black of the bonnet working in with the black in the design and then an explosion of colour. Paisley motifs, spots, flowers, a swami (swami is “He/she who knows and is master of him/herself”, “owner of oneself”, or “free from the senses” from Wikipedia); orange, pink and black laid up on a VW Beetle Cabriolet. Some cars just lend themselves to such a happy design with summer just around the corner …. pull back the roof and smile!!

Kahdo’s Yaris Vodafone Melbourne Launch

The Melbourne launch of Kahdo’s new Yaris fleet (75 nationwide, 20 here in Melbourne) kicked off in spring sunshine yesterday down at Brighton Toyota. Can’t miss this AutoSkin out on the street ~ colourful, graphic, and the “vodafone” red doors and rear red panelling is the void I mentioned in the previous post that allows Vodafone to brand their vehicle effectively amid the strong graphic. This is repeated at the rear. The Vodafone Yaris is aimed at the small business owner.  You drive around in a branded Vodafone Yaris like the one pictured here but you get the rear window to advertise your business.  We have two on loan and have branded ours with our AutoSkin and Wall Scrawl logos (AutoSkin rear window pictured here).

It’s best to talk budget first …

John had a conversation with a prospective client the other day about AutoSkin and the client mentioned that she was going to get her designer to create the artwork. John chimed in with “well just make sure that your designer knows what you’re budget is and how much coverage that will deliver on your vehicle.” There’s no point a designer creating artwork that will cost $6000 as a full AutoSkin if your budget is only $3000 or might only cost $3000 on a small vehicle but your car happens to be a Hummer. The point here is to establish your budget right from the start then chat with us about what that will deliver for your particular vehicle then get us or your designer to create the artwork. If your budget will not deliver a full AutoSkin then what parts of the car would you like to cover, ie: forgo a bonnet application for a printed graphic application on the rear window. If often depends on the artwork really and making sure that your artwork delivers a good, strong and coherent advertisement for your business whether it is highly graphical or text driven or a blend of both. And how that will be best represented on your particular vehicle (we’re pretty good at this bit) within your budget. We can assist your designer through the process to ensure that your AutoSkin budget is well spent.

Things to consider with artwork particularly if a full AutoSkin is not within your budget:

1. What is your budget?
2. What will this deliver as far as AutoSkin coverage on your vehicle?
3. Does the artwork clash with the colour of your vehicle?
4. How to make this work?
5. If you are trying to direct clients to your website, does your AutoSkin reflect the logo elements used on your website? and your street presence for that matter?
6. Have you created void within a highly graphical AutoSkin for your business details to stand out?
7. Do you want text to be visible at night?
8. Can the information on your vehicle be read within 7 seconds, which is how much time the average viewer will have to take in your mobile message?
9. Is the vital information visible enough or do you need a magnifying glass to read it?
10. Is their way too much information to absorb; pare down, make website address prominent, keep it simple for retention?
11. Take a look at what is out there on the street and you will get an idea of too much information, illegibility, clashing colours etc.
12. Speak to us about how to achieve all of the above within your budget.

I had an AutoSkin dream …

last night , very sad, I know!  I have been spending so much time on this site lately with a small upgrade and trying to add a back log of campaigns from 2007 and beyond. The idea being that when you guys go searching that your search will yield the right results on AutoSkin.  Anyway back to the dream ~ I was having one of those packing up after a holiday dreams (as you do) and each room kept filling with more stuff like a bookcase full of books that I was never going to read but now have to pack in my car to take home. Sitting amongst all my stuff was a client chatting with some other people (as they would) and he said something like ‘our wool sales have really increased since we advertised using AutoSkin’ (a fictitious client because we haven’t done a woolly one yet). I remember being really happy about that in the dream then went on packing.  You don’t hear too much about what AutoSkin does for a business’ profile but when clients keep coming back you think it must be working.  Maybe subconsciously I really want to know!
