Waiting for x-ray ….

My favourite photos capture a moment. To be transported into the history of a moment, there has to be something real going on particularly when it comes to capturing the emotion of a human being.  I can see the sadness in her expression even though I can’t really see her face, I can feel her emotion even though she might not be really feeling anything at all.  As a mother I find it a little bit unsettling. Whatever the emotion I like to feel something when I look at a photo, listen to music, watch a movie.

Happy Mother’s Day

circa 1668, lunch at Healesville Sanctuary, mum and three kids
This is mum – 3 kids at the ripe old age of 25. It is 1968 and we are having lunch at Healesville Sanctuary.

l love Fridays – the promise of a good weekend, especially good because we mums get a bit pampered, mind you I get pretty pampered any way, but I’m looking forward to a dodgy breakfast on Sunday ~ perhaps a few bits of cold toast that have been left to stand on the bench a tad too long; one may have fallen to the ground to collect a bit of dog hair but the 3 second rule will apply, immediately declared by children and husband.  If it’s longer than 3 seconds, then the 7 second rule will apply.  But hey, no longer than that, particularly because we have a night visitor trying to transport whole apples through the back of the kitchen door architrave (how big is this thing).  Last night he helped himself to a banana and was heard scurrying across a plate.  Our house is seriously in need of renovation …
