I mentioned recently that we are creating a mini showroom for Wall Scrawl in our foyer. This is our first installation, leftover print from Gila’s White Swirl Design which was installed on a white wall in Gila’s pantry. Here the same design is installed on a deep grey wall. It clearly shows the different strengths of white used creating a layered effect. Gila’s white on white can be used as a memoboard with a black dry erase pen however in the foyer the black scrawl would get lost in the background wall colour. So here it can viewed as perspex art.

Gila wanted to achieve something simple with swirls from an image she had seen on our website. Again we used the services of Fotolia and purchased artwork to match Gila’s brief. We printed the design using white ink on clear film in different strengths of white. It was installed on a white wall. Being off set from the wall the resulting image is soft and the downlight above deflects the design onto the wall for a repeat stepped shadow image. All very pretty and a nice space to jot down shopping needs and memos.

We created this artwork and delivered the finished product late last year to Guy at Interactive Accounting. He wanted to use his Wall Scrawl for brainstorming sessions coming up with ideas and directions for his new business. To keep the board clear for doodling we placed logo elements in areas that wouldn’t interrupt the flow of scrawl. Logo elements comprised a watermarked logo without text at 30% strength, baseline left justified and full logo presentation at top right. Simple, clean and effective branding that functions as a whiteboard and adds an aesthetic to the wall space.

The final post for 2009. The artwork backdrop to the image of the reindeer shown here is for a client’s pantry. The shades of grey are actually differing strengths of white. The deepest grey is actually clear. The job is ready to be installed when we get back so will explain further then. The image of the reindeer with text is presently showing in our front door lightbox. We update it periodically for fun really. An interior designer and her children spied it from across the road. The kids loved what had been written and the mum wanted to frame for her own place. So there you go, end to another year. The front foyer is underway and everyone will be very welcome to come along and see what we can do with our product.

I mentioned recently that we are setting up a mini showroom in the foyer for Wall Scrawl. Our first print for the main Wall Scrawl will be a Christmas theme using elements shown below. We went off to Fotolia to buy the bits and bobs and will soon show you what we did with Santa and a couple of his reindeers as well as the patterned background. Think Window decals and Wall Scrawl interlayers.
A couple of our clients have now purchased Fotolia artwork which we have then printed on their behalf. Am in the process of doing a pantry Wall Scrawl. The design is a swirly pattern and will be printed using different strengths of white ink on clear with a watermarked background. Very exciting.
