“Laser cut mild steel with a wax finish. Signage at its simplest and aesthetic best.”
– LIAL by decently exposed
“Can you do this?” is often the question the client asks referencing an image or mock up that they have supplied. John’s answer is, “Sure, we’ll give it a go.” From there he moves into what he calls a “nutting out” phase. He thinks while he drives or is working on other jobs and generally the ideas flow. He links up with those he thinks might have the answers and asks questions; he meets, discusses and resolves. Case in point here, client provided a mock up of a blade sign in mild steel and desired a grey matte finish, both waxed and sealed. We have a blacksmith in the family who knew just what to do, Matt St. George from Dragon Forge in Footscray. John took the raw blade sign over to Matt and he applied two coats of wax and let it dry over a couple of days.
