Lunar Wall Mural to celebrate anniversary of Moon Landing
We had our own moon landing at Scienceworks last printing and installing a large photographic lunar wall mural depicting the southern sky and moon. The wall graphic greets visitors in the entrance foyer of the Planetarium. The installation coincides with the 50th anniversary of the historic moon landing. It will remain in place for the next twelve months.
On 20 July 1969, Apollo 11 landed at Tranquility Base. Hours later, Neil Armstrong made history by becoming the first person to walk on the Moon.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”43676″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”43680″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row margin_bottom=”5″][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Apollo 11 Photography Exhibition
Scienceworks is currently exhibiting images of the Apollo 11 moon landing until 31st of August. From their website:
‘On July 20, 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin became the first humans ever to land on the moon. In that moment, the world stopped to witness a remarkable achievement – the first instance of humanity exploring a world beyond Earth.
Stunning iconic images in Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Photographs celebrate this incredible feat of human ambition and ingenuity.’
