Crystal Creek Carwash | ute decals

Branding doesn't come much simpler than this. White forme cut decals on ute doors. But .... there are forme cut decals and there are forme cut decals, as is usually the case, the ones that do the trick have been well designed. And as simple as this logo is with the circular spray of drops similar to a shower rose it does convey the spray of water, and white signifies cleanliness. And some work has gone into the design. Good design gets the message across simply.

Not quite pool weather yet however I was at the Maribyrnong pool this morning, 8 degrees outside and a whole lot warmer inside. But this cold winter is nearly over thank goodness, am over cold, so let the largest pool and spa specialists in Australia allow you to keep your pool safe and sparkling clean this summer. Swimart come to you in one of these mobile vans (over 100 on the road).

Matte Black , Gloss Duco, Forme Cut Lettering

Gloss black duco creates a good contrast for a matte black overlay. It's not going to be in your face but when used here for subtle image display the textural difference just adds something to the overall appearance as an enhancement. It elevates the more obvious text elements . They need to be bolder and in your face if you want to get noticed. Good colours all working in well together.

Part Two has only just been completed this time in Darwin with the installation of AutoSkin on two trailers to accompany the Troopys in the outback.
No Frills PetBarn

PetBarn have been with us since 2006 and since that time have built up a small fleet of vehicles. In the beginning we used their elements to create a three quarter wrap. More recently we completed a no frills version, less colourful and animated but with enough logo placement to know it's another PetBarn vehicle on the road. Some clients do this for budget reasons and sometimes there is differentiation between a sales vehicle and a service vehicle.

The marriage of a well designed wrap on a retro car is often a match made in heaven. Here the psychedelic colours mirror the retro rainbow 60s. We printed this one for our installers in Sydney for their client BBC. Featured here is an Austin 1800 Utility produced for the Australian market back in 1968. A total of 2331 utes were registered between 1968 and 1971 when they went out of production.

That would be my daughter's order. There's lots to like about this AutoSkin. It is lively, colourful and enjoyable to view. It relates to the experience of drinking hot chocolate. The colours warm you up, it is something you drink with a friend, takes you out of the home and steps you into life. It goes beyond chocolate to deliver an experience so too their AutoSkin.

Centor Architectural have utilised photography to advertise their business. Keeping the doors simple using the base car colour and business logo then going all out with highly stylised imagery to wrap the remaining three quarters of the vehicle. Good photography often expresses/conveys more than a product, here it sells a lifestyle, comfort, home and family life. It's worth checking out their eco screens for large glass sliding doors and the projection screen is pretty cool too.

The F Word

Would love to have given this "F" word the metallic treatment but given that this design will be applied to various vehicle types and colours where the metallic print is not an option, it is important to maintain one constant and that is the design, maintaining uniform colour and placement. It is important for brand cohesion so that when all three vehicles rock up to a construction site that they treble their value as a marketing presence and here uniformity is key. So too wherever they travel. We were also able to achieve the end result well under the budget the client had originally provided.

Coopers | Revalor Flex

Some clients are very easy to do business with because they've spent the time and money on their brand before they contact us. Coopers came to us via the web a couple of years ago and in that time we have done quite a few cars for them. It is quite obvious that they work on their brand - it can be seen in the packaging of their products which is then advertised on their multiple product websites and the same cohesive branding is reflected in their vehicle AutoSkins. This mobile billboard goes direct to the client, in this case, the farming community. On the many country roads these vehicles traverse their branding message stands out.

You'll Fit In!

This is a great catchphrase because it is inclusive. Fitting in is important for all of us but for the more impressionable teens to early 20s fitting in is all important, sometimes more important in the beginning than the education itself. I loved uni because I could be independent, a master of my own destiny and everyone felt like they did fit in. In my Indonesian home room I remember walking in and seeing a guy knitting away. That image has always stayed with me and I think I remember it so well because it made me think that we can be ourselves and be accepted. About the job ... we had never dealt with Group Colleges Australia before and their design agency headed up by Tom Gericke but they were keen for us to the job and it was smooth sailing. Tom was great to work with.

Situated in Richmond, Business Relocation Managment (BRM) provide a fitout and relocation service to facilitate the move to a new business location. For this mobile service they have chosen a mobile billboard to advertise what they do.
Perfect!

The black base car colour complements the logo elements and colours of Perfect Italiano. It means that less AutoSkin coverage is required because the base colour infact becomes part of the graphic. It makes the artwork stand out. Perfect Italiano have marketed heavily on TV too with the listening man ad and also the sponsorial contribution to MasterChef. My guess is sales are up. I'm not sure if I just made up the word sponsorial, but I like it so it stays!

I can see clearly now ...

It still cracks me up that OPSM sponsor AFL Umpires. When I first heard this at the start of the AFL Season I thought whoever came up with that has pulled off a major marketing coup. It is perfect. How much abuse have we hurled at umpires for not seeing the bleeding obvious. Anyhow recently OPSM came to us to make them more visible on the street. Here we have utilised a popular approach of printing to create a metallic finish using the base colour of the car. The catch is that the base colour has to be silver. And for extra special glimmer we have created a gradient within the blue. We like!

Who ya gonna call? BLUESBUSTERS

This was a massive job. Spec was to strip original skin (wasn't done by us) and then supply and install new design with provision for rear and side door campaign changes over the next 12 months. The problems started when we tried to strip someone else's not so handy work. It was ripping the paint work off at the same time. Was the paint stripper used to remove graffiti the culprit? No! It would appear that the cargo section of the truck was spray painted but not primed beforehand. At some point shortcuts and cost savings equal nasty surprise for client. The paint came off when we removed the wrap. Remaining jagged edges had to be sanded back. 3 blokes, 3 days fixing someones else's cock up. Add that to the cost of a job. Other's may appear cheaper but when they are a lot cheaper you've gotta ask why?
Have you seen this one on the road? Well one of approx 35 Yaris in Melbourne, and the same in the other states more or less. The Mars Chilled Yaris has been out there for a little while now and is the second Mars Chilled campaign we have done for Kahdo. The last campaign a few years back was placed on Smart Cars. Everyone knows Mars so the logo says it all really and it is splashed all over the car with the background image to reflect chilled. I wonder if we will see the "Judd" bar with Mars now sponsoring Carlton FC. It was rumoured on the Footy Show.

Deanne @ First Off The Bike enquired about a partial wrap to be designed and installed within 8 days. Time was of the essence with only a few days to settle on an overall design before we could get print proof done. Lucky we did as the colours from logo provided printed on the vinyl very differently to what they wanted. Deanne came in to choose the closest PMS colour match from printed colour chart the day before installation. Graphics printed that day and installed the next just in time for the triathlon. Made it to the finish line. Phew!

You may recall that in very recent times we applied a variation of this design on Arquilla's Kangoo. Well they've just upgraded their long wheel based van with a similar design. The wine bottles were angled on the Kangoo. Here they stand tall and upright. Same design, simple variation to account for larger vehicle type. You may like to flick through the gallery below main image to see their previous design on this vehicle. That design has since been removed and applied with a simplified design which is in keeping with the freshening up of their website and other branding mediums. A business that works on their business not just in their business!

The ''Designed'' Difference

If a business is serious about their brand then by the time they arrive at our door it is simply a handover of essential business branding elements - logo, colours, fonts and perhaps imagery, illustration and catchphrase in an appropriate format. We require these elements delivered as artwork or as the starting point to develop concepts for an AutoSkin design. By way of example Get Started came prepared with their logo elements and design to go. It was simply the tweaking of supplied artwork to optimise the design for their vehicle type using our knowledge of placement and to offer a few suggestions. John suggested a large metallic orange G on the sides of the car for greater effect (texture, metallic sheen creates some motion in the graphic ~ fluidity rather than flat matte) but how we achieved this is a bit of a secret; part of continually striving to create a better designed AutoSkin for your business. Client feedback after collecting the car is that they are thrilled!

It's all about fashion and it's all happening right now, (see our current post) at the 2010 Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Our association with MINI has seen us cover a fleet of vehicles for the 2006, 2007 & 2008 LMFFs. This year one of the dealerships: Bib Stillwell MINI Garage in our neighbourhood came to us to print and apply this design to one of their vehicles.
There is a strong sense of tradition in both of the AutoSkins we have done for Arquilla but the images are fresh and modern. Their website reflects the same mix of old and new, traditional and modern and overall European. They sell their Italian heritage in their logo, their longevity in the industry and that they are progressive with a strong mission going forward.
My Bike's Cabriolet, Hardtop and a bit of Reflective

Brand uniformity is easy when you have logo elements - logo, colours, catchphrases, illustration, imagery. Large businesses create style guides that utilise logo elements across a range of media and each and every time they must abide the style guidelines for the opted media. It creates brand consistency. If I see this car on the street then go back and google My Bike it is important that the brand is similarly represented online so that the viewer knows he has come to the right place. A confused branding message may mean a very brief enquiry visit and wasted advertising dollars. So My Bike have represented their brand on two different smarts - the cabriolet and hardtop and it is in keeping with their online presence. They've added a bit of reflective for the text for night vision.

The Missing Piece of your Accounting Puzzle

Sometimes we receive very little information to create a design and sometimes there is information overload. Sonia falls into the latter coming to us with racing car themes, funky female characters, catchphrases etc. It is often a case of paring down, working through what the client really wants to achieve. We came up with a jigsaw theme around the catchphrase "missing piece of your accounting puzzle". Can you find the missing piece? Sonia wanted bright and colourful so this was incorporated with the jumbled numbers overlay ready to be balanced. The missing pieces (see red section) has been overlaid with all the vital business info so that it stands out for viewers to clearly see. There is a lot going on with this AutoSkin but it is effective because of the way the business info is confined and illuminated on a red backdrop allowing the graphic to stand alone for wow factor.

Coopers have been around since 1852 and one wonders how many recessions have they had to ride. 157 years in business is pretty amazing. Our paltry 17 yrs seems very insignificant. But I guess that a progressive company will find ways to use the low times. They will keep up with new ways of marketing their business. Perhaps that is how they arrived at an AutoSkin. They have been to us before for their pink eye utes. Being a part of the farming industry they have told us in a previous campaign that their "pink eye" utes were a major attraction driving around the farming districts. They let the farmers know they are on top of their game, serious about what they do etc.

Our twin boys have been doing road BikeEd at school. There are kids at school who have turned up to BikeEd on $1000 Kona bikes. The boys would now like these bikes for Christmas. The resultant discussions have been our undoing over Santa. You see their mate received a Mac book last Christmas so apparently Santa has an open cheque book. The conversation went a bit like this ... 'You don't have to buy it cos Santa will'. We replied but 'Santa can't afford $1000 per child'. 'But M. got a MAC last year. Unless of course Santa is you.' I'm not good at lying. Since they've worked out the Santa bizzo they've decided to save up for their own, maybe not a Kona, but something they want. They feel all grown up now because they have to keep the Santa saga from little sister. Maybe they could simply find something at bikeExchange.

It's that time of year again when we get to do a few AutoSkins for some cycling events. We've done a couple of small car AutoSkins for Tony at McDonalds Wagga Wagga to promote his business in and around town but this one supports a local event, The McDonalds Classic. It's their team bus once white now with a full AutoSkin. Tony wrote this on his website about the team bus ... "The Team Bus arrived on Friday. I am void of words, you'll see why!". Awww that's pretty nice. Another easy client to deal with makes it even better still.

New Mazda 3 Neo Hatchbacks for carsales.com.au

carsales.com.au have got it right with their branding. It's not so hard when your brand is established but they've already done the hard yards getting their design right, making sure all logos transport and place well on the same colour vehicle, in this case a white Mazda 3 neo hatchback. Their business name is their website address for immediate retention and viewer conversion online. The logo is large where it needs to be, instantly recognisable and this can be achieved in many ways. carsales.com.au have also thought about cost here, most elements are forme cut, they use their base vehicle colour as the background for all their vehicles. Artwork aside the budget for these vehicles is approx $650 - $750 per vehicle. This may sound inexpensive but they did the hard yards developing their design first. Main brand logo is carsales.com.au along with new catchphrase "because it works", blue flames between the wheel arches and base logo positioning of affiliated brands.

We like!! Why? Because here we get to work with well designed elements and AGAIN the end result is worth the design effort. When you cut corners with design it filters through to all the areas of your business where design is important: signage, web presence, stationery, and vehicle branding. It's worth it because when you create a style guide which can be as simple as logo, PMS colours and catchphrase these elements can then be applied across many mediums. It creates a cohesive presentation of your business which subliminally says much about your business.

Strike Bowling have been doing something right with 12 locations along the east coast. It is not a static site but one that delivers information people need about where to go and what they do. And the most important thing is that they keep working on new ways to market their brand. With MINI turning 50 thought it might be good to throw this one up in projects as it is my favourite MINI AutoSkin to date with its mix of imagery and colourful 60s text. The imagery captures this period and is immediately nostalgic.
This one has taken some time from an design perspective to get off the ground. 100 tweaks later and we finally arrived at artwork that the client is happy with.
Clive Champion Kitchens came to us via their photographer across the road. Clive wanted to create a greater awareness about his product being locally made. CCK kitchens appear in Vogue and Belle and so their vehicle imaging and style need to reflect a quality product arrived at through simple logo positioning and good photography used to great effect on the side windows. And we all like the base colour of this vehicle; the girls say pewter, the boys dark silver but it works in really well with the logo colours: black, white and yellow and the imagery. This is a good example of what can be achieved on the lower end of the budget specified when basic elements are strong and the base car colour combines to great effect.

I loved uni. Was just trawling the Vic Uni website and saw something about the mixed netball team. I once played for the Monash Uni netball team ... those were the days, hung up my boots last year, but I think I'll do a benny cousins, just don't want an injury first game back. Hmm ... maybe will stick to the morning coffee after school drop off. John Jurcic of Cummins Nitro (Vic Uni brand strategists) came to us to wrap their vehicles using artwork designed by the winner of a competition run by the uni. The funky graphic was applied to two Peugeots with a bit of uni detail on the rear window. Think a representative from Cummins Nitro was on The Gruen Transfer ... our kids love this show!

Not everyone wants a full wrap covering up every aspect of their car. Some just want some simple detailed logo representation. This is as simple as it gets. The base white of the car works well with a very simple grey blue logo. Wont wow the general public but looks clean and simple for client or site recognition. It's always worth thinking about your market. If you service or product doesn't have mass appeal then a full wrap may not be for you. If it does then you can go all out. The continual feedback from clients is that it is so worth it.

Same Artwork, Different Car

When you keep the brand in tact and don't mess around with too much information, it then becomes a much easier process of throwing up the same artwork on a completely different vehicle to strike a uniform branding effort. No point two vehicles going in two different directions and relaying two different messages. Keep it uniform and double your branding effort, same direction means reinforcement. More vehicles gives the impression that you are bigger than maybe you actually are. People remember you and then there you are again ... you're beginning to build your brand. Check your Google keywords, if you see that your business name is popping up more regularly then there's a good chance your AutoSkin is working for you!

Normally you would expect to see a Holden HQ ute on a farm, in the outback or maybe tucked away under cover in a garage. This very tidy HQ kitted up with an AutoSkin replication of Sneaky Rafter artwork by The Taboo Group is way cool. It has been custom made to deliver the coolest beer on the Market ... Foster's new indie boutique beer, "Nelson". The Taboo Group had us scale up the artwork to suit the Holden HQ, then we computer plotted the design, a white forme cut application, picked out the bits not required and installed the best bits. Easy? Hell No! Effective?
When Revolver Film in Sydney called us at the last minute to get 2 x 4WDs covered in SAV (self adhesive vinyl) to feature in an AFL TV advertisement in 2 days, well we squeezed it in. Lead time is usually 5. Time lines were super important given the cars were coming from Sydney shortly before the shoot. As this was more of a short term cosmetic wrap rather than our usual last a lease life AutoSkin, the SAVs were applied unlaminated. Apparently the cars were well behaved acting their parts out efficiently.
CarBuddy.com.au had a few designs under their belt by the time they arrived at Decently Exposed but having looked over our site thought we might be able to deliver something a bit more exciting. So as is "the process" we got the guys at CarBuddy.com.au to fill out the AutoSkin Creative Brief which provides us with the information we require in getting the design right. They had a tight budget but we were able to utilise the base car colour to set off their logo colours, design and illustration which enabled us to work within their budget but still deliver on design. The proof is in the pudding though and for these guys that means recognition out there on the street. The car, maybe being a funky new retro Fiat combined with a fairly cute design is making an impression out there and the feedback from these guys is all positive!

Getting noticed with real estate AutoSkins

For any business trying to attract customers in their local area, having a mobile branding presence becomes an effective way of reaching many local eyes. Particularly so for real estate agents who are competiting with say in our area up to 10 other agents. The use of real estate boards, corflute corner signs on the day of inspections and auctions and mail out is one way, but an AutoSkin lets people know you are busy on the street 24/7; sees you parked outside of prospective clients' homes and businesses, shows passers by which agent is in charge of an auction or property inspection, combines well with retail and web presence to deliver a strong branding presence in and around the area it services and is a constant reinforcement of their activity in the area. For Real Estate clients it is important to see who is getting the business, which agent is generating the sales for next time they want to buy or sell a home. And being seen is important for any local business operation.

A bit of vehicle branding for the brand specialists, reflective at night, in keeping with all logo and website elements. The website is worth a look, it has changed since I last visited to upload the Be Natural campaign, an Ignition EM client, which is represented in "Our Work" on their site. Ignition EM are a new client, having recently brought the Be Natural troopy to be branded and we must have done a half decent job their cos now we've been graced with their vehicle. And they practice what they preach. If vehicle branding is good enough for their clients, well then it's good enough for them.

Centrefold created artwork for two Smart Cars, the standard For Two and the For Two Cabriolet, same base text, different girls. When I think of Centrefolds, I think Playboy I guess. Dad used to have a few mags stashed up in his cupboard courtesy of a neighbour who would send us home with a mag wrapped up in a newspaper. Mum's famous Centrefold story is when she was sitting with all 5 kids in a busy medical centre waiting room and my younger sister opened a mag with a centre spread, don't think it was playboy but who knows 30+ years ago, and my younger sister pointed to the image and said Mummy. I think there were a few chuckles all round and a very embarrassed mother (mind you it wasn't mum). You could always take it as a compliment and I'll bet quietly she did.

The image definitely gives one a sense of what the business is about and the written content: url (www.), address in larger text (stands out, its a well know street in Melbourne so easy to remember) and business name is well straight to the point.
Being a franchise operation, B & S Sharpening have opted for a printed decal application across a number of vehicle types. These decals have been applied to a Suzuki Swift, Ford Falcon XT, and two Astras all with a silver base vehicle colour. Along with black and white, silver being a neutral colour can be a good starting point for partial and three quarter wraps as well as a simple decal applications. If your logo colours stand out on a neutral background, then silver might be the car colour choice for you. B & S Sharpening may have a diverse fleet of vehicle types but the branding is uniform by virtue of the vehicle colour. The printed decals have simply been adapted and resized for the different vehicle types. From the B & S Sharpening website .... Everything in homes and businesses needs regular sharpening - knives, scissors, secateurs, chisels, axes, spades, overlocker blades, kitchen knives etc - the list is endless.
I kinda like this car, it's a bit rugged, looks like a real four wheel drive, not the city slicker SUV variety. It's suits the Be Natural Campaign too; the colours, the style and it is a natural bar after all, filled with muesli goodness, nuts and a wee bit of sugar. Our kids have been well enjoying the samples, me too, particularly the ones with choc sprinkles on top. Anything with chocolate really, but it generally has to be good chocolate, not the cheap easter egg variety, just in case anyone out there wants to buy me a box; hard centres please, mix of dark and light good quality chocolate ~ Newman's ...

Ignition Experience Marketing who have brought us this job and lots of samples are a new client of ours, and they seem pretty friendly too, Michael and his team ... we like nice clients, we shoo the "others" away!
Strike! It's nearly Christmas ...

Strike Bowling Bar started with 3 smart cars and have used them wisely across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane since Aug 07. Basically the same branding message and imagery appears on all cars bar the back window - which is differentiated by state; one advertises Melbourne, one Sydney and one Brisbane. Strike use these cars during the week for technicians moving between sites and then they are returned to be used for promotional purposes over the weekend. Now they have recycled these cars and brought them back to Melbourne to launch the opening of the new Strike Bowling Bar in Glen Waverley. Rebranding the same 3 cars to get the message out there in 3 directions for the opening. They have tied the opening of the new Glen Waverley Strike with a Christmas theme selling two points of interest at the same time. Again, and a lot of businesses are doing this, creating a uniform design across several advertising mediums to get their message out there in a succinct, design driven and repetitive way - street, mobile and online presence is unified by way of design and content. This alleviates confusion when customers arrive at your website or shop front. And then keep adding from here. An investment to begin with delivers lots of options down the track ... Strike Bowling is a good example of exploring and expanding their marketing options; of growing, changing and adapting simultaneously. It's worth measuring the effectiveness statistically (fun if you like figures and seeing results) and putting your time in creatively (even more fun) to make sure it delivers for your business.

<img src="http://www.decentlyexposed.com.au/wp-content/uploads/autoskin/2-1-projects_20.jpg" alt="Strike Bowling Bar - Glen Waverley" title="Strike!
Well if you saw our bathroom, it would leave you in no doubt that a renovation is well overdue ... let's just say 80's ensuite complete with ornamental wallpaper (not the current fashionable variety) & 60's bathroom complete with rust holes in the basin ... sad, very sad but a renovation is hopefully not too far away. Smarter Bathrooms must be doing something right, winning 3 HIA awards (2 for bathrooms, 1 for kitchen makeovers). We also won a 3M award for the design of this vehicle. It's a pretty full on background tile graphic with bathware imagery, simple web, logo and phone representation. It is eyecatching; lets you know at a glance what they do as does their business name - 'Smarter Bathrooms', web address = business name; uniform and integrated design for web, street presence and vehicle AutoSkin.
You and I Ride #2

This is a follow up car to the ML320CDI which we completed over a week ago. This time for a Mercedes Benz C200 Kompressor both supplied by Barloworld. The car's black duco makes a stronger statement against the gradient orange than the silver based ML. The orange skin is strong and vibrant as too the You and I logo. All of the logo elements including sponsors sit well on the car which can be difficult to achieve when trying to work in varying elements. It is achieved well here because the strong You and I logo along with their major sponsor, Barloword, have been left to stand alone in white on the body of the car, while other sponsors are in black and grouped within defined window areas and then reversed out of a thick black baseline running down both sides of the car. You can see here how the logo elements have been cleverly designed (caramel creative) to deliver a strong brand presence for you and i ride and their sponsors.

It may not mean a lot to you, but to any motorcross enthusiast, it spells race-bred, battle-hardened, enduro motorcycle. BMW Australia commissioned us (Decently Exposed) to design and install AutoSkins for their two custom built Demonstration Trailers being used for their launch tour. The first trailer greeted thousands of punters flowing through gate 7 of the Phillip Island Circuit for the 2008 Moto GP as a backdrop to BMW's Motorrad display.

A few days prior to their 'really' busy season, saw the completion of Ian Sparks' freshly AutoSkinned Sprinter Van. A big brother to their Kangoo AutoSkin, this graphic covers at least half of the van with placed logo elements. We printed an off-white to ease the contrast between the white of the unprinted AutoSkin film and the Arctic White of the van. A big presence on a very reasonable budget for a vehicle of this size.

It all starts with V

When your brand is a big as Frucor's "V" Guarana drink then branding is all about reinforcement to ensure they maintain and increase market share. I think this job has been on the go since at least christmas. I remember sunning ourselves on Coogee Beach in Sydney and seeing two branded "V" 4wds packed with samples appearing on the concrete plateau that overlooks the stairs and out to the blue beyond. Couldn't miss them nor the throng racing up the stairs to get their free samples.

Their brand is very much a visual exercise (not much text required) ensuring that the "V" is prominent and well executed on the vehicle from all vantage points.
It's taken a bit to get this one over the line. John has been working with Craig from Frucor for quite a while on these. These 2 different designs are in Sydney & are pilot vehicles for the sales & promo crews, I reckon it has been worth the wait - with a bit of luck we could see a fleet roll out ...

Can be seen at street level if you are tall enough and often enough to spark interest to see what's going on ... anyway just thought I would add to the previous Frucor post ....

This caffeine road-train is perfect for corporate events, parties and anywhere/anytime coffee catering. Cross promotional elements have now been integrated on the car and trailer.
Having just completed the 2008 Jayco Herald Sun Tour AutoSkin and now this one for youandiride.com we decided to add a "Cycling AutoSkins" theme to the AutoSkin slideshow to showcase similar themed vehicles we have done over the past couple of years. Elements often used for sporting themes: bright colours, strong logos, bold, impressive layout, dynamic sports imagery and often some corporate sponsorship recognition. When you lay some of these elements up on a ML320CDI the end result is pretty eye catching - just what you need to draw the public's attention.

As for youandiride.com ... become a pro cyclist for the day with company ambassadors like Tour De France' Green Jersey Winner, Baden Cooke, Stage Winner, Simon Gerrans and our own National Champion, Matty Lloyd.
Bosch Power Tool Representatives from Townsville to Perth are now taking their brand to the streets via a full fleet graphic conversion carried out by Decently Exposed. As a client of both Taylor Made Signs & Decently Exposed, Kym Ramadge Design (KRD) chose us to Project Manage the Autoskinning of the fleet. Starting with print-matching the vehicle's body colour (for a seamless look) and test wrapping one of the Melbourne vehicles. After some chin scratching, a few tweaks were applied, then we were off into full kit production. Kits were then freighted to our capital city installation centres and logistics coordinated with each individual driver and installer to insure minimum fuss.

As for our project managing skills well we'll leave it to the client for their opinion "...special thanks to Rik who has done an ace job project managing" Kym Ramadge

Little Devils love the Circus ...

Not so much an AutoSkin but more your SAV (self adhesive vinyl) application otherwise known as vehicle graphics which may not have the overall impact of an AutoSkin but serves the purpose for those clients who are constrained by budget or simply prefer a more subtle advertising approach. It always comes down to design in the end, and here the design is simple: bright and visible, colourful and engaging on a blue background with minimal text for maximum viewer retention (most important)! The white and orange text and logo graphics all work well against the blue that is the base colour for this Mazda 2. Many thanks to Callum of 24/7 Ads (another AutoSkin client) for the referral.

From the Little Devils Circus Website ....
Little Devils have been teaching circus skills throughout Melbourne for over eight years. We are working extensively running curriculum programs throughout Melbourne schools, as well as aftercare and school holiday programs. We also run courses for corporate clients and councils, ranging from youth fun days and young people's health days to self-esteem and confidence building workshops. Already boasting an extremely successful business model in NSW & VIC, this time they are breaking into SA, WA & QLD with client Mortgage Choice. Organising a fleet across 3 states was not a problem for Decently Exposed. This campaign which will run a full 12 months for Mortgage Choice required a good deal of time and personnel management setting up new and existing drivers and running new Smart Cars in and out of Mercedes Benz.
Lost count of how many Creative by Design caddies we have now completed. Say 15 - 20. They keep coming back so we guess it must be good for business. Their graphic is pretty strong: a wardrobe illustration, mainly white, over a pink grid background which suggests a bit of measuring up and organisation of the home couture in a neat and functional way. The accent colours blue, purple, grey and red provide some relief from the graphic to highlight some important business information. It has been well designed to convey the business function, that of furniture design and manufacture for the home and office.

This latest smart car AutoSkin is all about colour with reflective elements that give Reviva exposure both day and night. There are all types of AutoSkins out there; some subtle, others demanding attention with colour, imagery, reflective inclusions and even 3D depictions often of the product itself. Being passionate about your business often shows in the personality of your car type and what you are prepared to do to get exposure particularly when your business appeals to the general public. Then you can go all out and get as many eyes on your business as you can.

Ory and Ivana are very passionate about their business, so you can imagine a project like this was a "baby" too! Fantastic colours chosen on a Saturday at our Melbourne offices during a trip down from Sydney came out so well that all and sundry commented. The use of reflective elements also meant they are out there doing their thing day and night. If you need to keep your staff up-to-date and certified, speak with Reviva - sure to be fun, not droll.

We had an enquiry for Toyota Yaris and John said yeah we've done plenty of them just search under Yaris on our website. But when he did his own little search there weren't so many to be found and that's my fault because the backlog is huge and it takes time to add each old one when the newbies are coming thick and fast. But this is one that we should have up and we did on our old site a year or two back but not here. It's my favourite type - strong beautiful imagery that is true to their brand and representative of all the elements that make up their brand - logo, imagery, illustration, website replication. Perfect result for raising brand awareness I say!

Why? Because if it is parked anywhere, there's a good chance free samples and goodies will be available! That's why. We love this one because of the amazing colours. It went past us on the road (going to our offices actually) and it really does stand out. Luke and Aaron were decisive on colours and with the white duco of the van the colours work well. The balance is right here too; with a graphic that is fairly detailed it is important that it is not overwhelmed by too much other information. Here all other content appears in black, namely logo and text. Keeps the eye trained on the graphic visual and its vibrant colours, easy to remember next time you're looking for a healthy drink to accompany your healthy lunch!!

As Kahdo add another high profile campaign Drive.com.au to their impressive list, we add another 32 AutoSkins to our tally. In four days that is! It may sound hectic, but a breeze when you think we usually strip, clean and re-wrap 15 per day over a full Kahdo campaign. If you've spent any time in Melbourne or Sydney over the last few years, the mobile presence is unavoidable and I guess that's the idea, 32 cars off in all sorts of direction for maximum exposure, 24/7 for the life of the campaign - try doing that with a billboard.

Allyson of BMW Melbourne had a new Mini Cooper Clubman as a Demonstrator and wanted to ensure people would identify with the new car and go to the Mini Garage Kings Way for a test drive. We had designed the original concept with silver stripes on a black Cooper S, so the new car needed stripes to suit. The Clubman actually has a black roof, so we colour matched Pepper White and did the whole roof, so the GT stripes would be one colour. The system also allows for the sunroof to remain operational. This style of work also takes into consideration the somewhat shorter lifespan a demonstrator has before it moves on to a new home.

We like repeat business because it means we got something right the first time. It also means that we are building relationships with our clients which is what business and life is about after all - connecting. The challenge is to maintain and better the standard, to get it right for our client so that it delivers the right advertising outcome for our client?s business. Getting the artwork right for the client is really important and that is why we get the client to fill out a creative brief. It helps to define the message the client wants to deliver to the street.

Thought it might be good to number the repeat work for 2008 because it is important for prospective clients who are thinking of investing a bit of money (and often a lot for a small business) to see that others are happy with the results and to show how many of those customers are returning.
Out and About with Silaforts Painting

For small businesses with small budgets this is a good starting point and can look just as good as a full AutoSkin, its all in the logo design, the colours and how it is pulled together in the artwork. It helps if the base colour of your car compliments your logo colours and design. The right colour car for this logo. Silafort Painting has kept it simple, but has managed to incorporate a strong graphic, a logo, mobile no. and a background colour, keeping the body clean and making use of the windows.

The temptation is often to put too much info on the car, it may attract attention, but it?s all noise, it doesn?t stick. The white of the car creates the void for the graphic to stand out and the colours work.

The experience for our installers has been invaluable. Some of our guys have now wrapped in excess of 400 smart-logo.jpgcars thanks to businesses like Kahdo, Fernwood Fitness & Resi.

January, for the past 3 years has been full tilt thanks to our friends @ Kahdo and this one was no exception.
With water levels down 6% on last year (at Oct 2008) Melburnians could be in for a bleak summer on the water front with very little rain falling in the spring "wet" months so far. PJT Green Plumbing help us to address this situation by providing the community with water saving solutions. Their smart car is one of our favourite designs conveying clearly what this business is about - plumbing, green, watersaving solutions, water tank and tap imagery, and logo content that directs you to them easily. This car looks like a water tank on wheels, metallic gleaming where the sun hits. There is an environmental message in the use of a smart car as well.

It's a bloke thing. While us girls want paisleys, flowers, stripes and dots, blokes, particularly stereotyping the ute variety of bloke, well they want flames, but at least they have filled the flames with carbon fibre patterning. Just to be different or to modernise the orange - red variety or becoming a little more metrosexual you just might say. The idea behind the carbon fibre actually allows for a low key approach, something that dances in and out of the light then all brought together with our Decently Exposed Korean Girl peering out of the rear window.
Strike Bowling Bars have opened up across the Eastern States (Melb, Syd & Bris). To advertise this fact and as a vehicle for the technicians to move from site to site during the week, Strike Bowling decided to purchase 3 smarts cars and brand them uniformly bar the back window. The back window is city info specific. Strike have gone for a pretty funky retroish design with flames down the side in bright colours. They are appealing to kids, adults and teens and their styling is a bit of an interpretation of when bowling alleys were popular back in the 50s. It is a form of entertainment that has endured and grown increasingly popular in recent years.
David Powell has expanded somewhat since we did this car for him a couple of years ago, he was using the vehicle at the time to travel around rural Victoria. According to David's website there are now 12 clinics spanning regional and city centres in Victoria. Hopefully his AutoSkin played a positive role in expanding his business.

Woodards are a good example of a business that creates uniformity across its brand with colour, text, logo representation, catchphrases and imagery. Located in Camberwell they appeal to a demographic that is more upmarket. Navy, copper gold and white are their choice colours, which they have used expertly on their website, AutoSkin and at street level (premises). All elements have been carefully planned and executed. Clean, classic and consumer driven. No wonder they have won so many industry awards.

Some of the best looking wraps we have done have been on older style cars, think Kombi, Holden HQ and with the right design, the PT Cruiser has come up a treat. Bring the Sandman back. It fell into the bogan category way back but now we love it. Here McDonalds went all out to promote some of their popular meals - bacon and egg roll still going strong. A heavily retroed theme in text and style.
